ABOUT NAS

Grammy winning rapper Nas released his debut album Illmatic in 1994. The album was an immense breakthrough effort, with smashing hit singles, “The World Is Yours” and “It’s Ain’t Hard to Tell.” His follow up effort, It Was Written, did even better, selling over three million copies. Nas moved on to becoming one of the most influential rappers in the circuit, spearheading New York and East Coast rap. His 2020 album, King’s Disease won the Grammy for Best Rap Album. Nas is regarded as one of the most talented lyricists in the world of hip-hop.

ABOUT THE ROOTS

Hip-hop band, The Roots, is prominently known for being the house band at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Show and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The band is highly eclectic with abilities to perform rap, soul, jazz, and tons more genres. The band comprising 11 members have performed with various artists, including Elvis Costello, Jennifer Hudson, Erykah Baduh, and tons more.

ABOUT DE LA SOUL

In 1989, De La Soul topped Billboard’s hip-hop albums chart with their debut effort, 3 Feet High and Rising. The breakthrough effort went platinu and spawned the single, “Me Myself and I,” which later earned the group their first Grammy nomination.  Hip-hop duo De La Soul won a Grammy with their collaboration with rock band Gorillaz, for the single, “Feel Good Inc.”
