What to expect
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Shoreline Amphitheatre is in an excellent location for an outdoor venue. For this reason, it operates year-round and in varying weather conditions. In other words, shows continue come rain or shine. Some extreme conditions may mean events are canceled – follow the venue’s social media channels for updates in this case.
Residents advise visitors to dress for all conditions. Local legend says that no matter how hot the weather is during the day, it will be cold at night. In particular, the breeze coming in off the bay can make for chilly conditions. So, even if it’s been a warm day, you might find a jacket useful after dark.
Upon arrival, general admission tickets can sometimes experience lengthy lines to pass security. Those with fast passes are generally inside within minutes. For this reason, it’s strongly recommended to either purchase fast passes or allow plenty of time to arrive, park, and enter the venue.
It’s also a good idea to keep your mobile devices charged before arrival. The venue uses mobile ticketing only. If you have any difficulty using your phone as your ticket, please contact the box office to arrange an alternative.
Once inside, there are large high-definition screens that show the acts close up. Combined with the excellent sound system, fans get a great experience no matter where they sit. However, it’s a good idea to arrive early if you want to secure a central or close-up spot on the lawn. Events generally end by 11 p.m. due to a noise curfew.
