When the teaser of the then-upcoming movie Barbie was seen all over social media, it was met with mixed reactions — most especially by critics who thought that it would be another movie that would objectify women and set an unattainable standard for young girls. However, it turned out to be a modern masterpiece that creatively tackled some important issues women face. The Greta Gerwig movie became a blockbuster hit and one of the highest-grossing movies in Warner Bros. History.

The movie is loved by both critics and fans. After all, it has the qualities of a great movie that most moviegoers haven't seen in a while. From its set design, plot, and musical score, Barbie ticked all the boxes. Its soundtrack was probably one of the best we have seen in years. In fact, its original song, Billie Elish's "What Was I Made For," both won the Grammys and the Academy Award for "Song of the Year" and "Best Original Song," respectively.

Because of its success, Live Nation and Mattel, Inc. will bring the movie to its fans in an event like no other. "Barbie The Movie: In Concert" is a live-to-film concert experience that will feature live music from an orchestra. In this innovative show, the record-smashing film will be projected onto a giant LED screen above The Barbie Land Sinfonietta as the orchestra performs the film's award-winning score.

An all-female orchestra and production company, the Sinfonietta is well-known for its varied artistic leadership and musical prowess. The majority of its members are women of color. The all-women ensemble will be conducted by Tony award-winning producer Macy Schmidt. Being the first woman of color orchestrator in Broadway history, Schmidt is indeed the perfect person to lead the orchestra, furthering the tour's mission of showcasing an all-women production. On that note, the majority of technical and production professionals working on the tour are women.

The tour will stop at Mountain View, California's Shoreline Amphitheatre, on July 25. Aside from immersing themselves in the musical score of the highest-grossing film of 2023, fans will be able to enjoy the unique limited-edition merchandise, photo opportunities, and other surprises.
