It's Luck... or Something

It's her first full-on world tour in nearly two decades. It's also all in support of her sixth album, one that fans waited for about 11 years. Across the board, longtime fans, new generations of listeners, and the press had all eyes on the "Come Clean" and "So Yesterday" singer.

Her husband, Matthew Koma, had shared with Rolling Stone that the singer had been "flirting" about returning to music for quite a while now. In 2024, right aftter she gave birth to her daughter, Townes, she started taking the idea seriously. While she was quite nervous about the idea of facing the public once again, "But obviously, I miss performing, and I desperately miss having that person be in the forefront," said Duff.

Her breakthrough album "Metamorphosis" came out in 2003, right on the heels of her Disney Channel stardom through shows like Lizzie McGuire, Agent Cody Banks, A Cinderella Story, and more. Today, younger fans had recently discovered her work, making her a memorable pop stars whose impact definitely stayed.

With the new album out, Rolling Stone shares what came out of the singer's passionate efforst to live the dream once more.

"The result is a cohesive, no-skips record that offers an update on Duff’s life, including honest looks at motherhood, marriage, and the passing of time."

Mirroring life's anxieties in a relatable, pop-forward manner, it's a signature Hilary Duff pop music record. In an interview with Billboard, she shared a bit of a background of what inspired her to make Luck... or Something.

"I constantly get asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry. The album title is my way of answering that question, which felt right for a record that's about where I've landed and all the things I've been through along the way,"

Recently signing with Atlantic Records ahead of the album's big release, you definitely expect to hear more from Hilary Duff, especially as Luck... or Something proves to be more than just plain luck. She's worked hard for great success, and proved that she's an artist by heart.
